Following the clear document my solution was: Use a recent marlin release. Connect my BL Touch to the servo and probe ports as the diagrams indicate. Set Z_MIN_PROBE_ENDSTOP_INVERTING true Disable Z_MIN_PROBE_USES_Z_MIN_ENDSTOP_PIN Enable USE_PROBE_FOR_Z_HOMING And then everything worked AFAICT flawlessly.

BIGTREETECH SKR V1.4 is featured with blazing fast 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 processor LPC1768 main control chip with 120 MHz ARM level. It can use different communication modes for TMC drivers without external wiring, and support X, Y, ZAM, ZBM, E0 and E1 motors.

Avoid the BTT SKR v1.4 Turbo. Don't buy an SKR v1.4 Turbo if you plan on ever hooking anything up to it via USB. I had a GTR v1.0 hooked up but wanted to move that board to a new build so I purchased an SKR v1.4 Turbo. I unplugged the GTR, hooked the SKR to the same wiring and turned on the printer.

The SKR 1.4 Turbo is a really nice 32bit board. It replaces a MKS Gen L on my AM8 Printer. The Eryone Steppers come with UART Mode enabled. So no extra soldering is required. They also have one less pin than some other TMC2209 Steppers, so no need to clip or bend anything.
